Thakoon

Designer Thakoon Panichgul has a way with prints--witness the handful of his dresses that landed in the spotlight this year thanks to First Lady fan Michelle Obama.

For spring '10, Thakoon (ta-koon) turned out some of the most interesting floral print dresses of his career--mixing print and solid fabrics with plissé pleating and scuba seaming -- all in the same dress. It may sound like a cacophony of design elements, but his deft technique made for a truly unique collection. Here are the first and last looks below:
