Backstage at Vena Cava, MAC makeup artists did more than just paint faces--they mixed colors to create a matte, opaque violet lip. Not with lipstick but with one of the MAC professional products called Lipmix in white, burgundy, red and blue. Now that's a true artist!
Skin was perfected in Studio Sculpt Concealer and Select Cover-up Concealer, applied with a MAC #190 Foundation Brush to give it a matte finish. Prep + Prime Powder was then used to set it. The rest of the face was done in taupe shades to keep all the attention on the lips. This look is about making a statement...and that statement is a bold, graphic, violet lip.
