Backstage with Dick Page

Dick Page, Artistic Director for Shiseido, called the look at Narciso Rodriguez "Two + Two."  Two eyeshadows and two lipsticks is really what this look is all about. It's the idea of doing makeup in reverse and that means you start with eyes first. He actually put a touch of eye cream on lids and while skin was still moist, applied two brown eyeshadows called Squirrel and Caven, then finished with Black Perfect Mascara.

To keep the look modern, he paired this wet, almost shiny eye with a Glowing Matte lip. This is one of those backstage previews where new products are being tested on models. Many times the new launch products aren't even in final packaging. See Dick's working trays below:

Perfect Rouge Glowing Matte is a new texture in a lip product; there's nothing really on the market like it.  This lipstick has a transparent matte texture. Most matte lipsticks have more opaque coverage to them and at times can start to feel dry. This formula is an extension to the very successful launch of Perfect Rouge Lipstick, just in a new texture. It has all the moisturizing treatment benefits, but has more silicone in it for a different type of finish. In this show, he used two colors and mixed them, Whisper (RD722) and Wink (BR323).

One of the things I love about Fashion Week is the overall collaboration between so many creative people. Here at Narciso Rodriguez, Dick Page did the makeup and Deborah Lippmann was on nails.  With this very modern, healthy skin look, Deb just decided to keep nails healthy as well. Instead of all the dark colors we've been seeing all week, it was a simple clean-up nail that was buffed for shine, using the Lippmann Collection Start Me Up Set. It's everything you need in one kit for beautiful-looking natural nails at home.
