What I Have Been Wearing

I have been spending a lot of my time writing about how other's are dressing for fall, so I figured, why not show all of you how I dress for fall! It is my favorite season, and as the weather cools down over here in Cali, I can finally throw together some of my favorite looks of the season.

First Look:

Plaid is always fun for fall but I layered on a navy crew neck sweater to compliment the yellow in the shirt. For accessories, I wore my new statement necklace (made of rhinestone daisies, how cute?) and my favorite stud earrings. I also pegged my jeans to show off my new ankle booties. This is one of my favorite looks for fall!

 

Color is fun for fall as well. The fire skinnies, which I have in five different colors, can brighten any outfit for the season. I chose my mustard yellow skinnies with a classic navy striped t-shirt paired with my denim vest for a polished simple outfit perfect for school. I chose to not accessorize this look because the color and stripes bring enough personality to the outfit

Knee Sock Loving

Happy Friday!

    I hope you are all enjoying the wonderful October weather! In the fall, we all know it's important to layer because of varying temperatures in the morning, day, and night. One trend that I am loving this season is over-the-knee or knee socks. Last year, the boot sock and leg warmers became increasingly popular, and this year I am seeing them even more. However, it's possible to pull off this look without wearing boots too! Take a look..

    Because they cover the majority of your legs,  feel free to wear them with a skirt or shorts and then throw on an extra layer on top!

For cooler temperatures, layer them up with some tights!

 

    I love the sophisticated-chic, schoolgirl appeal they have to them! Be a trendsetter this fall by sporting the unique look.

Shine On

Since tiaras are only acceptable on birthdays and halloween, it's important to find ways to stand out from the crowd any day of the week.  The possibilities are endless, you could accessorize with a multi-colored mani, eye-catching earrings  or glitter-coated pumps.  How you choose to stand out is completely up to you.  

These are a few of my current favorite stand-out items from BP...

This Lily White tank can be dressed up or down and it will definitely make a statement!  These reversible jeans are also so unique!  Will you try them out?

 I am absolutely loving all of the statement necklaces in BP right now!  I wore this Carole chain necklace today!

Carrying a statement bag or clutch is a good way to constantly accessorize.  Try a bag with studs or metallics!  

 Sparkly lipgloss or nail polish always helps to bring out my inner sparkle!  I want BP's glitter and lace nail sets, so pretty!

I think that these shoes might be a girls real best friend...

These statement items might also be just what your dress needs for homecoming or any other formal events that are coming up!  If you have already had your homecoming, remember that you can play dress up any day of the week!

Dance the Night Away

    This past weekend I went to Homecoming and it was a blast! I had so much fun picking out my dress and accessories, taking pictures, going to dinner, and dancing. After trying on tons of adorable dresses in BP, I ended up picking this coral ruched tank dress that I saw onset the Homecoming shoot in June. 

    I completed the look by layering the Carole Floral Rhinestone Necklace and a long gold necklace (both from BP). 

 

    My sister also wore a dress from BP! She looked great in her one-shoulder ruched black dress. What's an outfit without the shoes though, right? We both loved our pumps! She wore bright purple ones to add a pop of color to her black dress and I wore nude ones.

 

I loved all of my friend's dresses as well! Body-con was a constant theme..

Fall Getaways

BP's Fall Trend Guide is here!  It includes everything from adventure essentials to motivational quotes and even a playlist for you to download!  The guide reminded me how important it is to breathe, relax and find a way to escape from the daily stress of school, extracurriculars and life in general.  

I am currently planning my escape into a world of fall fashion filled with layering, accessorizing and the perfect pair of boots. These are a few of my tips for entering into the magical world of fall fashion...

Don't stop the layering!  Throw on sweaters, jackets and scarves until you feel warm and cozy enough to take on anything and everything.

 

Accessorize with statement handbags, necklaces and nail polishes to turn the hallways into runways.

Try a pair of boots that are a little out of the box.  Maybe some studs, fringe or glitter?  You'd be surprised what the perfect pair of boots can do for your wardrobe.

Neck Attire

Let's spend some time focusing on our neck fashion! Weird huh? Well, if you think about it, what we wear around our necks can make or break an outfit. For fall, I love statement necklaces and scarves. Here are some of the cutest ones out there this season.

Statement Necklaces:

I love this look. Taking a plain t-shirt and jeans from boring to runway chic fast, these necklaces have made an impact on the fashion world this season yet again!

Scarves:

Fabulous for any fall day, scarves keep you warm and cozy. Scarves can also tie any outfit together! My favorite ones are the neutral one colored cable knit scarves.

Scarves are a great way to neutralize an outfit. If you have a pattern on bottom and a bold color on top, throw on a beige scarf to bring in an equalizer. A simple scarf can transform any outfit. I picked all neutral scarves because they are my favorite for fall, but there are tons of other styles too!

Next time you are in a rush, throw on your comfiest outfit and brighten it up with a scarf or a statement necklace. Watch the transformation from boring to glam right before your eyes! Til next time,

Fabulous Fur

Happy Friday Fashionistas!

    I have another great trend for the fall! Faux fur is a great addition to any outfit whether it be for that extra oomph or simply to keep you warm. Faux fur vests are my favorite, and BP just got this adorable one in!

 

    Fur vests can easily be dressed down as shown above. I love how they look when people layer them and how they can transform any outfit!

 

    Since it is a relatively neutral piece, there are so many ways to wear it. I've seen faux fur look really classy and preppy and then I've seen it made look more hipster. Wear it to fit your own unique personality!

 

I personally like it worn with black and white for a classic look. How would you wear faux fur?

Criss Cross

Recently, I have noticed the symbol of the cross making an appearance in the fashion world.  From tank tops to sweaters and necklaces to rings, the cross has been making a statement and turning heads. 

 Regardless of religious preferences, you have to admit that these girls are looking stylish and chic in their cross-inspired looks!

 

You can style a simple cross tank or top in any way that you want.  You can easily dress it up and make it girly and feminine or accessorize to make it rebellious and grungy.  How would you wear it?

 

These loose flowy tops with leggings and accessories make the perfect casual looks! 

 

These printed tights and jeans are sure to get you noticed any day of the week.

Aside from wearing cross apparel, you can also add to an oufit by accessorizing with crosses.  I've been seeing a lot of jewelry with sideways crosses and I think that it's a really cool take on the classic cross necklace or pendant.  I'm really loving sideways cross rings!

 

A cross accent nail could add some originality to your manicure!

 

These are definitely statement shoes.  I love them!

Girly Grunge

Street style alert! Girls are taking fashion to whole new heights in NY and my highschool! Say goodbye to lace minies with matching glitter flats. Girly has become grunge for this fall season. Check out some of these fall street fashion pictures to get a better look at the new style, girly grunge, rocking the halls.

This look is all about mixing your florals with denim and leather, keeping your circle skirts for colder days where you can rock them with shredded tights and pairing your favorite lace sundress with a fun studded scarf. I Pink I Can

    October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! Most all of us have had some connection to breast cancer in some form or another. In order to show your support to survivors, those currently struggling with breast cancer, and friends and family of those who have/had breast cancer, wear pink this month! Whether you go all out or just add a touch of pink to some of your outfits, it's a great way to spread awareness!

 

    There are so many different colored pants out there. Pink jeans are an easy and trendy way to show your support!

 

    Even incorporating a touch of pink with a scarf will do the trick! Not to mention it will also instantly boost your outfit with a pop of color.

 

Don't be afraid to think outside of the box!

Some things to remember about breast cancer are:

-Self-exams are very important!

-Active women are less likely to develop breast cancer

-If it's caught very early, breast cancer has more than a 90% survival rate in the US

-Getting enough of the Vitamin B Folate can help reduce your risk (found in leafy green vegetables, beans, and fortified cereals)
