Five Things For Fall

Get ready for fall because it is only two weeks away! Where I live, the sun is still out and shining brightly so I will not be able to layer up for a while without a miracle but I envy you east coast fashionistas! Fall is my favorite season because I love to layer and I absolutely love boots! Take a look at five of my favorite fall trends for this season.

Taking a summer dress into fall with a layered jacket:

Simply take your favorite summer dress and throw on a cable knit sweater or a blazer for a polished fall look. Layer on sweater tights to keep warm because tights are perfect for fall!

Sock buns:

Throw up your hair around a cut out sock to keep it up and out of the way. Place it on the crown of your head just like Lauren Conrad! I cannot wait for my hair to grow out long enough for this look!

Men's Inspired Outerwear:

A favorite of mine for fall! Layer a blazer, or a military dress over any look to show the boys that we can work it better! How cute.

Statement Jewelry:

An eye-catching necklace can bring so much character to a simple dress or blouse. Check out all of BP's new fall jewelry if you like this trend!

Peplums:

The 40's trend right from the history books. Chanel originally was famous for these flirty silhouettes. Bring out your inner girly girl with this flattering figure.

These are my five faves for fall! Inspiration for the next season can get you excited to show off your wardrobe without buying anything! Saving money and looking cute! What a good deal.

That's a Wrap

Have you ever woken up in a panic after hitting the snooze button too many times? I have a quick fix to whip your hair out of your face fresh out of the September Seventeen.

Take a look:

Here is how:

Start with plain bed head

Pull your hair up into a bun on the crown of your head with a simple elastic. If it is too short, pin up remaining pieces for a messy bun.

Pick a fun thick headband, or a short patterned scarf and wrap it around your head, tying it securely.

Finally! A fun look in five!

Change Up

Is the same old outfit boring you day to day? I know I become bored with my everyday school outfits on a regular basis! So here is Lauren showing you how to spice up a neutral skirt and tank with just a few accessories.

After all, your bedroom should be a place of peace and quiet that you can relax in at the end of a hectic day.

Pick a type of Room:

Feminine Vintage

Important patterns and key items in this room are woods, dark pinks and purples, and worn furniture. This room is perfect for a someone who likes classic cut pieces with fun accessories and basic patterns.

Rustic Charm:

A favorite of mine, this look is home to lace, layers, and a basic color pallet. The key to this look is mirrors. MIrrors can make a small space seem ten times bigger.

Modern Chic:

Modern chic is the in between of sleek and girly. The combo is genius and I have seen it in a ton of my designing magazines. Bold patterns and pops of color give this look its distinctive punch!

To upgrade your boring room to one of these looks, I have found a few easy things that can be done with a quick trip to a craft store, or even a utility store like Target!

Back to School in BP

I had some fun shopping in BP yesterday with my fashion board coordinator Liz. She put the cutest looks together for me to try on and then I ran around the floor while she snapped pictures for you guys! Check it out.

First look:

The skinnies in this look are to die for! They fit so well and have very flattering details to draw your eyes down making your legs look ten times longer. The sweater is a staple piece to have for fall. It is warm and cozy but the checked gingham pattern will set you apart from your friends.

Second look:

I absolutely adored this outfit! The floral blazer is such a cute layer over the lace tank. Even though you cannot see the back of the shirt in the picture, it ties in the back with a ribbon. These black skinnies were also extremely comfortable and figure flattering. Everyone needs a pair of these for back to school!

Third Look:

This look is perfect for a Monday when no one wants to be at school. It brightens up your day with the tangerine top and the polka dotted jeans. I loved this look.

Fourth Look:

Prep is my favorite look for school and this look is definitely preppy. The checked oxford and pleated sweater bring a fun twist to the classic polo and cardigan combo. Try this look on for size!

Last Look:

For my last look, Liz picked the cutest seersucker high wasted shorts that I tucked a 3/4 length sleeved sweater into. Over that I wore the new Frenchi blazer with a floral headband for a flirty accesory.

Shopping Day!

Back to school shopping is my favorite shopping event out of the entire year! It makes me excited to start school and show off my favorite new clothes! Especially now that BP has been recieving the cute new clothing from each back to school look, Geek Chic, Modern Grundge, and Feminine Edge.

 It is extremely exhausting hitting up each store to find the best deals and cutest new looks but here is how to do it looking good.

All about the outfit

What you wear completly affects your success in the stores. Wearing something uncomfortable can encourage you to leave sooner and not try on clothing, while wearing something sloppy can make you feel bad about yourself in the dressing room. The key is to wear something easily taken on and off while still looking put together.

How cute is she! The best part is that you can steal her look in BP today! I will show you how later.

The best shopping outfits are skirts/shorts and a tank. Tanks are a great tool for trying on all different types of clothes. Who knows what you will find!

Stay away from wearing anything heeled on your feet. Flats are so much more comfy for endless trips up and down your mall.

Wear something bright to liven up boring dressing room lighting. It is not always the most flattering and a pretty pink blouse can brighten up and dull moment

Wear a watch to keep the time. Even if cellphones are handier, watches are a cute way to keep you informed.

To carry your money and your phone (keep belongings to a minimum), rock a satchel. It holds the essentials and hangs across your body, leaving your hands free to carry all your shopping bags!

Layer up with a sweater in case it gets cold. Worst case you throw it in a bag of purchases if you do not need it!

Right Around The Corner

Back to school is closer than ever. Even though that may put a damper on your last few weeks of summer, like Ashley said, fall fashion is something to look forward to!

Start dreaming of your first day outfit. That is something to get excited about! Will you rock your new tan with a cute summer dress and your favorite jeans jacket? Or are skinny jeans and chucks more your style? Whatever it may be, here is a little inspiration for rocking the halls on your first day back.

Layered Up

This look is for a chilly day. These are some of my favorite looks, but if as the weather seems to be getting hotter maybe you will have to opt for another look on your first day back.

The key to this look is over sized on top with leggings or skinnies tucked into your favorite pair of boots! I prefer ridding boots but that is just me!

Feminine Edge

Ironically this is one of BP's back to school look as well! Go check out Ashley's post on this look as well!

This look involves lace and leather. Not your typical girly girl style. She enjoys studs as much as diamonds. Floral is always paired with stripes and rarely is she rocking a simple ballet flat. I adore this look!

Eastern prep

This look is prep with a twist. The bright pieces and statement accessories are key to this look. It is so fun and easy to transition into all seasons. Small details are also an important component to this style.

A Summer's Day

This week was a bit chilly for a week in August, however, chilly is my favorite. Instead of a pair of shorts, I threw on some bright capris. My friend Kendall opted to keep things sunny with the Lush Tank sun dress. It was quite the day! Chek out our outfits!
