Pretty Little Packing
Summer is one time of the year that definitely requires a lot of packing. Whether you are just packing a tote for a day trip to the pool or packing multiple suitcases to take when venturing across the country, it is guaranteed that you will need to pack your bags at one point or another.
I may not be the most qualified person to give you packing tips as I am one of those people that lugs the 49 pound suitcase across the airport and brings 17 dresses for a four day long trip… But I have learned from my many packing/traveling mistakes, so I can tell you all of the "packing don'ts" that I have leaned from my experiences.
I do know that it is important to be prepared and ready for anything. So bring versatile items that you can possibly re-wear and use to mix and match with.
Planning out outfits for each day of your trip guarantees that you won't overpack too much!
Bringing extras or backup items is a must. You never know when a dressy event might pop up or when the elements may cause you to change your original plans.
Don't bring too many pairs of shoes, these can take up a lot of room in your suitcase. It's best to take pairs that are in neutral colors that will match with almost anything.
Don't forget to pack your necessary cosmetics in your carry-on bag and keep them in a plastic, sealable bag. Having shampoo-covered clothes is not fun… It's also a good idea to keep a change of clothes and a bikini in your carry-on so that you can hit the beach if your luggage gets lost.
This is my packing list for a week at the beach!
If you happen to find that you forget something or need something else, you can typically buy it once you reach your destination, so don't stress!
