Moda Italiana
Ciao Fashionistas!
While you are reading this, I am currently in Italy on a school trip. I wrote this blog in advance and scheduled it to post while I am gone. Make sure to check back on Friday to see my actual pictures from the trip!
While I was packing, I looked up street style in Italy. After all, I didn't want to look like a total American tourist while there. However, it turns out that we are not too far behind the trends according to my research. Italians just seem to dress nicer on a day-to-day basis and exaggerate the trends. Of course, I'll let you know what I observe there once I get back!
I saw a lot of neutrals and lace on the Italian blogs I looked at. I'm glad this was the case since those are two of my current favorite trends, and they will go with lots of my other clothes! It's definitely important to pack light, versatile pieces when travelling.
I also saw a lot of polka dots. I love the vintage-y and feminine feel that polka dots are giving off this summer..
Maxi dresses and skirts are all over Italy. These are perfect for those dress codes in many of the churches over there, including the Vatican.
Full, flowy pants have made an appearance as well. I'm not sure if I'd be daring enough to try these, but I think they are a fun twist on the maxis and jumpsuits. What about you?
Throw in some flirty sun dresses and you've got Italian summer style down. Florals, ruffles, embroidery, you name it.
But don't forget the shoes. Gladiator styles dominate over there. I mean Rome is the home to some of the first gladiators ever. Lace-up boots are popular too!
XOXO,
Ashley
