Color Blocking

Color blocking is a stylish, pretty and simple way to pull outfits together.  Color blocking has been a trend for a while now and I see this trend surviving in the fashion world.  Color blocking with brights or neutrals makes it perfect for any situation.  Color blocking yourself requires the ability to pick colors that complement each other, but I find that it is easy because I simply exchange my black tanks, skirts or cardis for their colored versions.  Wearing a variety of colors, all in one outfit opens up a rainbow of possibilities for many other outfits.  Keeping the pieces simple, unpatterned and plain enhances the effect of this look.  The possibilities are endless...

Black and white color blocking stands out in a sea of little black dresses but of course bright colors do too.

I think that I need this skirt, I love the sheer overlay and the red is great.  This cardigan is perfect for colorblocking because it comes in so many different colors (eleven) and it can be worn buttoned or opened revealing a tank underneath.

Don't forget about blazers!  Especially ones that come in such pretty colors...

Give color blocking a try and let me know how it goes!  And I think that it is important to remember to stay true to your fashion sense and ideas.  You don't need to copy other outfits that you see when you can add your own unique, individual twist to your outfits.  Your outfit and style is yours, so why try to be like anyone else when you can be your own fabulous self?  Being a copy cat is never in style.
